Personal Development

  • We are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that enhances staff skills and promotes compassionate, high-quality care for our residents.

  • "When I first started as the Assistant Director of Nursing, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The general job description outlined my responsibilities, but I quickly realized that the role was far more dynamic, and relationship driven than I initially thought. Over time, I found myself building strong relationships within my own facility and collaborating extensively with colleagues across other buildings.

I’ve had the opportunity to assist several other facilities with skills fairs, participate in state investigations, train new Assistant Directors of Nursing (ADONs), and support our organization through various acquisitions. These experiences have allowed me to grow beyond the traditional scope of an ADON, gaining a deeper understanding of both clinical and administrative functions.

Through these opportunities, I have developed a well-rounded skill set in managing both staff and resident care, navigating regulatory requirements, and leading teams through complex situations. My knowledge has expanded significantly across different areas—something unique to this role that I might not have gained elsewhere. In doing so, I’ve learned what it truly means to be among the best ADONs: it’s about leadership, adaptability, and continuously striving to provide exceptional care and support within and beyond our facility."

Career Development

  • We provide clear pathways for career growth through training, mentorship, and opportunities that empower staff to reach their full potential while contributing to our mission of dignifying post-acute care in the eyes of the world.

  • "Since joining, I've had the opportunity to broaden my skills and responsibilities significantly. I've learned the MDS position, taken over the role of Infection Preventionist, and become familiar with the duties of the Director of Nursing. I have been supported in my professional development through the funding of my RN education and CPR instructing certification. The commitment to my growth is further demonstrated in the encouragement to enter the DIT program and the support in financing my college education.

LONA has been exceptionally understanding of my Army Reserve responsibilities, allowing me to fulfill my duties without any issues."

Organizational Development

  • We strive to build a resilient, innovative organization that adapts to the evolving healthcare landscape while ensuring excellence in care and collaborative work environments.

  • "At my building, we place a strong emphasis on supporting employee growth and development. I have witnessed remarkable progress, such as

    • a CNA transitioning into a nursing role and now being on track for an ADON position,

    • a floor nurse excelling to become an exceptional MDS coordinator,

    • a receptionist rising to become one of the best activity directors we have ever had."
